Adventure: The American Southwest

Travel and adventure, like so many things in life, seems to have fads. After the movie Crocodile Dundee, every traveler decided to head for Australia. Then there was Out of Africa, and the streets of Nairobi were flooded with American adventurers. More locally, it seems that the American South seems to have the spotlight — and given that Charleston is fire hot right now, we decided to escape the tourists and head out: to the place that will always be a favorite in my book: the American Southwest.   IMG_6050

Right now we’re still in a sprint, so I’m just going to share a photo story of what we’ve done thus far — there’s plenty of a story to tell, lemmetellya, but right now, the story comes in pictures.  My hope is that they’ll inspire you to hit the road…no plan except just to enjoy our remarkable country and the cool people you have with you…

Three days of driving…
